Welcome to imagi Edu (“imagiLabs”, “we”, “us” or “our”). imagi Edu is a learning platform that combines creativity, self-expression, and collaboration with learning to code. Educators and Teachers around the world have used imagi Edu to inspire thousands of new coders. THIS APP IS FOR SCHOOL AND ORGANIZATIONAL USE: do not download unless you have an account created by your teacher. If you are not sure about your access, talk to your teacher or IT administrator. 

imagi Edu is a tool for teachers and students that can be fully utilized without any personal information from children or students. It is fully compliant with FERPA, COPPA and GDPR. Furthermore, this makes it easy for EU individuals to exercise their rights described in that regulation. The purposes for which imagi Edu collects your information, the categories & specific types of information, and our practices & policies regarding the processing of your information are described in this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy describes how imagi Edu (the “Service”, “Platform” or “we”) collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you use the Service. imagiLabs AB, org. nr. 559165-2655, is the data controller in relation to the processing of your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy applies to all users (“Teachers”, “Educators”, “Administrators”, or “Students”, and others who access the Service (“Users”).

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use imagi Edu. You can contact us anytime with questions about this policy at support@imagilabs.com.

This Privacy Policy governs the use of data collected by our Platform at https://edu.imagilabs.com/. This includes personally identifiable information that we collect when you create an account (Educator Registration).


1. WHO DO WE COLLECT DATA FROM?

Our learning Platform collects data from Teachers, Educators, Administrators, and/or Students when accounts are created on imagi Edu. 


2. WHAT DATA AND HOW DO WE COLLECT YOUR DATA?

imagi Edu provides users to register for an Educator/Teacher account. Once Educators/Teachers have registered on the Platform, they should create/register Student Accounts for their students. The amount and type of data collected varies depending on the account. Below is an overview of what data and how we collect the data based on the account types. 

Teachers/Educators/Administrators Accounts

Account information

  • Personal information collected: When accounts are created on imagi Edu, we collect your full name, email address, password, country, and school name. 
  • Purpose of collection: To provide you access and use our Service by verifying your identity and storing your Classroom(s), Students' login credentials and projects created by you and your students. To identify your account and provide customer support if you encounter any problems. To promote or notify if any 1) activity or updates in your account and/or 2) new updates or features are released on imagi Edu to ensure the Platform is used at its full potential. 
  • Source of collection: Collected from you. 
  • Disclosure for business purpose: Shared with our third party processors.

Classrooms

  • Personal information collected: imagi Edu also collects classroom information and the content that is added to your private classrooms. imagi edu collects the student credentials when teachers create student accounts including student project data including draft projects. If teachers/educators/administrators decide to register student accounts with Students’ full names, this personal information will be collected as well. 
  • Purpose of collection: Research, understand and analyze trends of users to improve 1) our understanding of the usage of our Service and 2) to develop new features for our products. Investigate, prevent, and detect activities on our Service that we believe may violate the law or applicable regulations. At the request of a school, we may investigate accounts to determine whether they comply with school policies.
  • Source of collection: Collected from you.

Customer support information

    • Personal information collected: name, address, email address, phone number.
    • Purpose of collection: To provide customer support.
    • Source of collection: Collected from you.

    • Purpose of collection: Research, understand and analyze trends of users to improve 1) our understanding of the usage of our Service and 2) to develop new features for our products. At the request of a school, we may investigate accounts to determine whether they comply with school policies.

    Student Accounts

    Account information

    • Personal information collected: imagi Edu collects the student credentials when teachers/educators/administrators create student accounts. If teachers/educators/administrators decide to register student accounts with Students’ full names, this personal information will be collected as well. Please note that we do not intentionally collect Personal Information from children or students. No personal information from children or students is required to fully provide the Service
    • Purpose of collection: (1) To provide access and use our Service. (2) To identify accounts and provide customer support if any problems occur. (3) To ensure the Platform is used at its full potential. 
    • Source of collection: Collected from teachers/educators/administrators. 
    • Disclosure for business purpose: Shared with our third party processors.

    Log data: 

    • Personal information collected: IP address, browser type, operating system, device information.

    Please note that Teachers/Educators/Administrators are responsible for creating student accounts before usage in classrooms. If teachers/educators/administrators fail to meet this requirement and students proceed with creating educator accounts, the same type of personal information collected by educator accounts will be collected from students. If you are the teacher/educator/administrator and believe your student(s) has(have) provided us with Personal Information, please contact us to request deletion at support@imagilabs.com. 

     

    3. HOW DO WE USE THIS DATA?

    Please note that marketing efforts are only applicable for teachers/educators/administrators with teacher accounts, students will not be exposed to any marketing. In terms of marketing and distribution of information, we may send marketing and other information during our contractual relationship.

    You can always ask for your data to be deleted at any time or, and also opt-out of marketing communications from us by emailing us at support@imagilabs.com. It is however not possible to opt-out from our distribution of information that is not marketing but information relating to the provisioning of our Services or similar.  


    4. DO WE ALLOW ADVERTISING OR SHARE DATA FOR THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING?

    No. We have no interest in advertising within imagi Edu. We never display ads, allow third-party ads, share data for advertising or marketing purposes, or allow data collection by third-party advertisers or data brokers.


    5. WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH?

    We do not sell or share any data you provide with third parties. We do, however, share your data in the following circumstances: 

    • We use service providers. We share your personal data with the following categories of data processors: host service providers, data analysis providers, CRM providers, marketing, legal and professional advisors. 
    • We may disclose your information to a third party to comply with applicable laws or regulations, or a valid legal request - including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. If we are going to release your data, we will do our best to provide you with notice in advance by email unless prohibited from doing so by law.
    • We may disclose student Account Information to the child’s school district upon request, as required by FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).
    • We may disclose or transfer your Account Information, Classrooms, and Projects in connection with the sale, merger, bankruptcy, sale of assets or reorganization of our company. We will notify you if a different company will receive your information. The promises in this Privacy Policy will apply to your data as transferred to the new entity.

    To improve imagi Edu, we collect and analyze aggregate data about how it is being used (for example what buttons you click on, page visits, duration, etc.) to inform those decisions.

    If we allow a third party to have access to your personal data, they will only be permitted access for purposes that are consistent with this Privacy Policy and will be required to protect your personal data in accordance with all applicable data protection laws. 


    6. HOW DO YOU USE COOKIES?

    Cookies are small text files that we transfer to your web browser that allow us to identify your web browser and store information about your account.  We use these cookies to keep you logged in to imagi Edu and customize your imagi Edu experiences. We do not use cookies for analytics purposes.

    You can choose to remove or disable cookies via your browser settings. Please be aware that imagi Edu will not work properly if you disable or decline cookies.


    7. HOW DO WE STORE DATA?

    Your information collected through the Service may be stored and processed in Sweden or any other country, for example, the United States, in which imagiLabs’s service providers maintain facilities.

    When we transfer your personal data to countries outside the EEA, we will ensure appropriate safeguards in place to govern such transfers (for example, the European Commission approved standard contractual clauses). For further details, please contact us. 

    We use commercially reasonable safeguards to help keep the information collected through the Service secure and take reasonable steps (such as requesting a unique password) to verify your identity before granting you access to your account. However, imagiLabs cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit to imagiLabs or guarantee that information on the Service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

    Please do your part to help us. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling access to emails between you and imagiLabs, at all times.


    8. HOW DO WE HANDLE ABANDONED ACCOUNTS?

    imagi Edu will delete an account and all content associated with the account if the account has not been accessed for more than 7 years.


    9. HOW TO VIEW, CORRECT, EDIT, PORT, OR UPDATE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

    You have the right to access, correct, download for transport to a similar service, or delete any of your personal information collected by imagi Edu. You can ask for the information associated with your imagi Edu account to be updated by emailing us at support@imagilabs.com.

     

    10. HOW TO DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT?

    If you would like to delete your imagi Edu account, you can do so directly by logging into your imagi Edu account and going to My Account > Manage Account > Delete Account or by emailing us at support@imagilabs.com.


    11. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR DATA SAFE?

    imagi Edu takes protecting your security and privacy seriously and we've put several measures in place to protect the integrity of your information, including the use of access-controlled data centers, restricted employee access to user information, and data encryption in transit.

    In the event of a security breach, we will notify affected account holders within the amount of time required by law so that you can take steps to keep your data safe. 


    12. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

    imagi Edu may from time to time make changes to this Privacy Policy to account for changes to our practices or applicable law. If we make changes to this Privacy Policy that we believe will materially affect your rights, we will notify you by email about these changes and post a notice to our Service. If you continue to use our Service after you receive notice of changes to this Privacy Policy, you will accept these changes.
