imagi Visits Schools in Springfield, MA to Bring Creative Coding and AI Literacy into the Classroom

The imagi team visited several schools around Springfield, Massachusetts, to bring creative coding, AI Literacy, and hands-on activities into real classrooms. Across March 30 and 31, the team connected with students from different schools and grade levels, including Grade 5 classrooms at Arthur T. Talmadge Elementary School, Boland Elementary School, and Brookings School, as well as Grade 8 students at The Springfield Renaissance School.

The instruction was led by imagi Co-Founder and CEO, Dora Palfi, joined by Director of Marketing, Jeanette Debek. They were welcomed by teachers and ambassadors, who have clearly created a warm, supportive learning environment for their students.

Highlights: Vibe coding, Python, and a lot of a-ha moments

At Alfred G. Zanetti Montessori School, imagi introduced vibe coding, an AI-assisted and exploratory approach to programming, to the school’s coding club. The energy in the room was high as students experimented with Lovable and shared ideas. Sixth-grade students also worked with Python through imagi Edu, focusing on foundational concepts and building their own creative projects.

Students applied their learning by creating their own games, reinforcing problem-solving and computational skills in a fun and engaging way.

AI literacy starts in the classroom

Throughout the sessions, it was possible to measure the value of a safe exposure to AI, coding, and project-based learning. These approaches help develop technical skills, exercise creativity, and build confidence, encouraging students to see themselves as active participants in shaping the future of technology.

We are so grateful for this experience and for the opportunity to connect our students with real-world leaders who are shaping the future of computer science.”

AI literacy and coding education are at the heart of imagi’s mission, and moments where students feel empowered are exactly what we’re working toward. We look forward to collaborations that inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence in students as they explore the world of technology.

Why Vibe Coding Matters for the Future of Learning

As AI becomes part of how people work, learn, and create, students need opportunities to understand how technology can help prepare them for the future.

In a recent K-12 Dive article, Peninsula School District in Washington shared how it is using AI tools to develop internal software, replace some existing edtech subscriptions, and expand what the district can build for its own needs. The district expects to save up to $250,000 by the 2026–27 school year, while also emphasizing the need for privacy, safety, and careful vetting when using AI tools in education.

Vibe coding is a playful, creative way to start with technology. Students can begin with a concept and use AI-supported tools like Lovable to bring it to life in a classroom-safe tool, without having to navigate complex concepts right away.
